You can look but you can't touch/I don't think I like you much |
Heaven knows what a girl can do/Heaven knows what I've got to prove |
Crashing waves filled her delicate ears, her hooves making an unsteady trail as she stepped through the sand. Softly, she hummed to herself, using the bone shaking rhythm of the waves to guide her melody. With each step, her body swayed, her body loose and relaxed with her dark honey tail waving through the cold salt air. After a few more steps, she pulled herself gracefully to a stop, turning lightly on her dished hooves and turning toward the crystalline water.
A smile on her maw and a light her in eyes, Clemence nodded to herself. Yes, this was what she was what she loved. It wasn't the beach itself that she loved, though she did enjoy the golden sand and the soft breeze, but more the force of nature that lived there, the endless pull of the waves crashing one after another. It was elemental and stronger than any horse could dream of being, but it's power was one of beauty.
Tearing her amber eyes away from the beauty of the endless sea, she looked back at her steps, letting her head tip over to view them form the side and her salt soaked mane to fall into her chiseled face. Back and forth, back and forth her hoof prints weaved through the sand, seeming to fall as they would with no thoughts for the normal pattern of a step. Her head weaved back and forth through the air as she watched them, as if she was trying to mimic their loose freedom.
With one final strain, she finished her little tune, the one she'd kept up absently through her contemplation, and once more turned to face herself forward, her body lurching slightly as she dug into the sand, ready to start her patterns once again. With a light bounce in her step and her smile never falling from her lips, and started another tune, once more chaining herself into the elemental forces that governed her thoughts.

Osirieon [/size] Maybe I'm a day dreamer.[/right] A palomino pelt shone under the sun as the owner walked across the sandy beach. He loved the beach. The salty water, the feel of sand beneath his hooves and the sun. Oh the sun. It made him look even more dashing than he was, which is hard to imagine because Osirieon is one dashing stud already. He snorted, proud of himself, like always. He kept walking, his charcoal hooves noticing hoof prints that were not his own. He looked at them, his flaxen mane gently brushing the sand. "Hm. Looks about my size." He snorted and moved his head, kicking the sand up in the air for a moment. He wanted to find this other horse and say hello.
Eon kept walking, a new thought in his mind. He wanted to find the steed that had left those tracks. He kept wondering who it could be but he didn't have to wonder long. Up ahead was a horse, walking in whatever way the breeze went. He paused, making sure his brown orbs weren't deceiving him and then sighed. "What a unique creature." He trotted over, his long mane and tail flickering. He stopped a few feet from the other horse, a beautiful brown dappled fae. He watched her do her thing for a moment before he nickered at her. He wanted to catch her attention and say hello, see what she was up to in such a place. She was taller than him, this he could tell but it didn't bug him. He was perfectly built for his height. "Fae?" He spoke in the nicest voice he could muster. He was full of himself but he wanted to know her before he threw himself one of his daily parades.

"Fae?"
Clemence turned, her silly little smile still fixed delicately on her face. Blowing out a puff of air, she studied the stallion who approached her. He was a handsome little thing, standing strong and confident but built low to the ground, like a hardy patch of moss clinging to the trunk of a tree. All in all, he seemed rather like an uncommonly feisty squirrel, and she nodded her head in greeting. She loved meeting unusual new horses.
[pink]”Greetings from the sun, small one, I would be Clemence,”[/pink] she flashed him a genuine grin, stepping toward him with her signature roving gait. He really did remind her of the sun, as she tried to convey with her words. His coat was pale and his mane was creamy, like the sun darting out from behind the clouds. [pink]”The waves are large today, aren't they?[/pink] her voice was strong as she spoke, trying to impress upon him the wonder of the day, and the pleasure of their chance meeting.
Although few people seemed to understand it, she thought she spoke quite clearly. Others, it seemed, just weren't apt to listening, a fact that frustrated her endlessly. Again, she stepped toward him, stretching out her neck a bit. She knew it made her look silly, standing a few feet in him with her neck stretched out, but the odd position let her look this small stallion straight in the eye without looking down on him. She didn't believe in looking down on others.

Osirieon [/size] Well thank you darling.[/right] He listened to her speak as she came towards him. He smiled softly at her as she stopped and seemed to look him over. "Apparently I look like the sun. Interesting observation." He listened to her next words, about the waves, and smiled once more. Her observations were impressive and he knew something must be troubling her within. Eon ignored what must be bothering her and felt a surge of pride within him as she stretched out her neck. They were now eye to eye, without her looking down upon him. Angels rejoiced within his mind, singing a song as he looked Clemence in the eyes.
"Greetings Clemence. My name is Osirieon, or Eon." His soft voice sounded bolder and more proud as he walked about her in a neat little circle, his tolt looking quite alright as he did so. "It is interesting that you think I look like the sun. I believe you look like the ground within a forest. You know, when the sun breaks through the trees and shines on to the floor below. I mean that as a compliment." He smiled, feeling proud of his observation. He may just hang out with this fae all the time, she made him feel prouder than what he was. Eon turned to the ocean, ears pricked and he listened to the waves. "My my dear! You are correct! The waves are large today." He smiled and looked back at the horse. He went and stood near her again and glanced her over with his brown eyes quickly. "Thank you for speaking to me eye to eye. I appreciate your kindness." He sounded as sincere as he could as he looked in to her eyes, wondering what was going on in that mind of hers.

"It is interesting that you think I look like the sun. I believe you look like the ground within a forest. You know, when the sun breaks through the trees and shines on to the floor below. I mean that as a compliment."
Clemence started a bit at his words, but it took only moments for the twinges of surprise to blossom into a ball of happiness coiled in her chest. She was right, she was absolutely right to have been excited to meet this stallion, Osirieon. The horses she found who cared to listen to her words were few and far between, so with her ever-widening smile, she let her hooves shuffle against the ground. He flattered her with his words of forests and shadows, and she let herself bask in the satisfaction of a kindred spirit, of someone who could at least glimpse the world she lived in.
"My my dear! You are correct! The waves are large today. Thank you for speaking to me eye to eye. I appreciate your kindness."
She acknowledged his words with a solemn nod, glad that she had not caused problems with her gesture of goodwill. There were times when she would extend such courtesies to others and they would take it as an insult, or as an action bred from pity. [pink]”They are, aren't they? It's always nice to see them reaching for such lofty goals,”[/pink] again, the meaning in her words was clear, to her, but rather foggy to most others. She felt that it was more appropriate to address his strength in his size than fiddling about and bragging about words she had already spoken.
With a bit of surprise, she tossed her head as an itch spread from her ear down through her body, realizing only belatedly that a fly had landed on the very tip of her ear. She had a bit of a soft spot for flies, however frustratingly itchy they might be. It was hard to hate something so determined, not to mention something so harmless.

Osirieon [/size] A fly, oh my.[/right] His ears pricked as he listened to the soft spoken vixen before him. Surely she would have another insight to offer him soon. Something even greater and more majestic. Eon listened as she spoke of lofty goals. "We are reaching for lofty goals my dear." He gazed across the sea, wondering what on earth could lie across them. Another land, another place? It was all a mystery. A mystery that he wanted to ask Clemence. His turned his palomino body so he was facing her once more and asked her a simple question. "What do you believe lies across the sea?"
His orbs watched her for a moment before he turned back to the sea, a question growing within him. He suddenly didn't want to settle down, he wanted to find his way to the other side of the sea. "What if it never ends?" He shook the silly thought from his mind, after all, everything ended. He turned his dished face back to Clemence and he gently played with the sand at his feet as he wondered what mystery she would unravel, or what new words she would speak. She was an interesting speaking companion, one that he was determined to find out more about. "Tell me about yourself Clemence." She seemed like the type to run from any friendship or relationship so he would not think of either right now.

Clemence felt herself stilling at Osirieon's question, letting herself think it through. It was an interesting thought to ponder, and one that she couldn't help but fall into. Beyond the sea... There had to be so much, what could you expect from a distance so far? And, in a way, she would think that with wind that blew so strong, all things must find their way there some day or another.
[pink]”I would think... That everything has to be beyond the sea,”[/pink] she spoke quietly, her voice rather reverent. It was a wonderful thought, the drifting of the wind on the gentle waves as all things might fly. She could almost see it in that moment, things intangible and unimaginable drifting across the vast expanse, changing with the salt and the storms.
"Tell me about yourself Clemence."
[pink]”Sometimes I like to watch the clouds. What do you see when you watch them in the sky?”[/pink] again she smiled, moving so she was a few steps away and nudging her snout into his mane. He was intruiging to talk to, which was a fresh breeze of air in the normal fog. She did enjoy the clouds though, and the way that they floated freely on the wind. They traveled every which way, and brought peace and comfort to warm sunny days.
