Moonlight Minuet Some say I'm crazy, they don't understand. Charcoal hooves touched the crispy snow beneath, savouring the sound. A gentle mountain wind skirted its way across the grey body attached to the hooves. The body blended with the snow, giving the horse an almost eerie look and feel yet that was far from the truth. Calm minded, intelligent and kind accurately described the grey creature walking through the snow, mane and tail flowing behind softly. The soft hooves continued their path, the grey body seeming to be dragged behind as the hooves kept going. Birds chirped above and a smile spread across the maw of the horse. She was know as Moonlight Minuet and she was on a mission.
Long ago she had heard of stallion that owned the mountains. A black and white Gypsy Vanner, a proud being. It was her hope to meet him and she what happened. She did want to be in a herd and have foals but only by the correct stallion. She would know him when she saw him but so far this horse had been a myth told to her. She had not seen him or any trace of him. These mountains seemed to be even wilder than a rabid wolf but no hint was given as to where stud might be. Moon sighed. "How typical of a stallion. Needed but unable to be found."
She shook her head and continued walking across the snow, wondering how on earth she would find someone in this sea of white. ooc: Sorry it is so short! [/blockquote]

His heavy hooves flicked smoothly across his domain, landing on tufts of snow lightly before kicking back up again. He was surprsingly lithe for his wide bulk, the graceful way he crossed the mountainside would seem a little impressive given his bulk. Mismatched tresses of both black and white tossed back in the wind, and he eagerly made his way forth. It was true, he did blend with the drifts that plagued his territory. You could only spot him from a distance by focusing on a tract of land, and catching the bobbles and flashes of black against the white. It was because of this, he was certain he fell eyes on her. Mares, and mares, and mares, and mares. A smile pulled his lips, ears of two different colors tipping forward on his likewise dish. It seemed it was a curse in his life, but one he took on gladly. He enjoyed the constant company, and his herd was still young. He would welcome any into it's ranks, provided they had an tablespoon of intelligence, and an alright nature. He considered this place a haven, and wanted to convey it towards others as the same. Here, in his secluded place, Atreyu felt a steady peace, and wanted the same for the others he brought here.
Icy optics studying her, they almost didn't catch her form as he meandered, and honestly wouldn't have, if he hadn't been at a higher elevation. She had an elegant form, obviously one of European breeding he would guess. It was strange, meeting another of what seemed pure-blooded. He had just encountered a horse of his build, but had grown used to the mutts that inhabited the wild. Snorting, he picked hsi way down to her, nickering shrilly; He did not want to startle her, and was growing rather bored with the skittish, fearful vixens he was used to coming upon. "Hello... miss." He spoke, loudly enough so she could hear, despite the 20 or so foot distance between them.
ooc; its okie sorry mine was so long! haha, I don't mind short posts, I prefer them kind of as it keeps things moving. As long as they are site minimum : )

A sigh escaped her as she continued but soon she heard another. At first it was the simple steps of a horse but it grew louder. She flicked her forelock out of her face and realized that the black and white stud stood near her. Yes he may be more than a few feet away but he was there. She smirked, enjoying his manner and body from afar before she stepped forward. "Hello... miss"
[/s] Moon smiled and stopped a few feet from him, her eyes looking at him in every angle. "Hello. You must be the owner of this fine land." She walked around him in a neat circle, her eyes and brain analyzing as her hooves moved her slowly. She stopped, her maw a few few feet from his and smiled. "Purebred and a leader, my my." She spoke with soft words, but words that warned that he better play the cards right if he was to win her into his herd. She shifted her weight slightly and flicked her tail as a breeze came forth again. "My calling is Moonlight Minuet, or just Moon. May I inquire as to yours?" She was bold considering she was a mare but she knew boldness could win some over, or could make enemies. Either way, love her or hate her, you would know her name. Moon glanced over his body once more, her eyes absorbing every detail they could and her brain analyzing as quickly as her eyes were seeing. "Talk about handsome." She ignored the voice for a moment and then looked back into his azure orbs. [/blockquote]

Atreyu could feel her gaze scrutinizing him, and one of his peeves was feeling belittled. Snorting, and eyeing her a little testily, he swung his hindquarters around, out of her circle, maneuvering himself away from her. His pinnacles tilted towards her, and a smirk spread across his mug. His crania tilted and now he scrutinized her, letting his blue eyes rove over her glimmering frame. You must be the owner of this fine land. His smirk transformed into a gentle, approving smile, and his crown dipped up and down in confirmation. "Indeed, I am. And you must be a wandering lass, that for whatever reason... trekked up these slopes. I'm assuming you didn't come here for nothing..." Atreyu let his sentence trail for a moment, indicating she could elaborate on the subject if she wished. Chuckling, he stepped towards her, but still remained a few feet between them, so that he could avoid her circling if she went for that tactic again. His pride was a little touchy here, and despite his calm and kind nature, he disliked being disrespected. "What, you know I am a lord, but you can't figure out my name. Clearly you've heard of me before, and you know that I am a purebred." He would tease her, withholding such a simple piece of information.

Moonlight Minuet I won't back down. As his eyes scanned over her she felt belittled for a split second, but then the feeling vanished. Try as much as he may, she was not going to be frightened by him. She let a slight snort escape her as he moved, trying to avoid her circling once more. Moon smirked, he was uneasy. "Good." She watched him for a moment as he said he was the owner. She nodded slightly, letting him continued. "What, you know I am a lord, but you can't figure out my name. Clearly you've heard of me before, and you know that I am a purebred."
[/s] She smiled. He wanted to play a game. Moon's brown eyes gazed in to his blue eyes as she spoke. Her voice ringing clearly. "I know you are a lord from the way you hold yourself. I know you are purebred just by the way you look. Your name is a detail I don't greatly care about. Lord." She looked at him, putting emphasis on the word lord. She wanted to slightly unnerve him. Most mares would have been head over heels for this stud. Obviously he hadn't met Moonlight Minuet before. She stood her ground and waited for an answer as the snow around her feet melted slightly. She would remain calm and collected for the time being. There was no point in letting this, this male, get her mad. She was better than him and she knew it. She smirked slightly as she looked at him. "You don't know my name or heritage. Doesn't it feel odd not having the advantage?"[/blockquote]

"See now, there, you are wrong." He couldn't help tossing his massive head upwards, and loosing a bellowing laugh. His withers shook in his amusement, and then his head fell back down, the entertainment she was providing evident in his eyes. OH, she was fiery, but there was no better joy than a fiery mare slipping in her own words. "Your name, is Moonlight Minuet, as you've told me a few moments ago. And your heritage is hardly as difficult to guess, as mine was." He rolled his orbs skyward, chortling again. He wished he could be as ridiculous hostile as her, but he simply couldn't. He contented by laughing to himself for a couple of seconds, and letting his physique tilt more towards her, into her space. Please, she was so caught up in her front he focus on little else but her charades. She was a pretty thing, despite the provoking temper. His mug twinged as she laid venemous emphasis on the 'Lord' part. He turned his dish away, scanning his mountainous peaks. He could use her type in his land, mostly he surrounded himself with tentative horses, never a headstrong minx.

Moonlight Minuet Two can play this game. She smiled, knowing she had spoken her name just moments ago. But how could he be sure it was her name? "What if Moonlight Minuet was a name I told others? My true name will take some prying, lord." She looked him dead in the eyes, not even caring to blink for a moment. She swore she could see the wheels turning in his head as he thought about what had just been spoken. It was true, Moonlight Minuet was not her real name. She didn't even know her real name. Moonlight Minuet was a name she had given herself. Moon smirked slightly, her eyes daring him to try again. "You are an interesting conversation being. I must say, the vanner within you seems to show well on exceptionally sunny days like today." She flicked her tail, watching him.
He moved in to her space but instead of backing up she took a step forward, matching his movement. She was now closer to him and could almost stand eye to eye with him. As he turned away she snorted, typical of a male to not be interested in her. She spoke to much and the scars that covered her back, sides and legs were not exactly the most beautiful things. "If you don't want me in your herd, lord, then so be it. I shall continue on my way, right out of your lands." She spoke with a harsh tone, harsher than what she was used to and as she walked by she flicked her tail at his face, as her hooves crunched in the snow. "Oh and by the way, a wandering horse told me about this great stud up in the mountains. How he was brilliant and charming. You have failed on both counts up to this point." She snorted and looked back at him, pausing in case he wanted to speak.

He snorted, growing more into shock by her unpleasant mood. As Moon began striding away, he took a few cautious steps after her finely carved frame. Atreyu paused, bemusedly watching her as she threw out more scathing words to him. He was beginning to write her off as attention needing and psychotic, as all he had merely done was look away before she went charging off. Sighing, he nosed at the ground, letting her finish. Was she truly that frustrated he wasn't completely taken with her? Was she used to being the center of attention? As her tail lashed at his face, his crania shot up, and he huffed angrily. Trotting forward he zig-zagged in her path, stopping short to glare in her face.
"You hardly give anyone the opportunity to waste charm and brilliance on you, first off." He snarled at her, feeling angry hotness tugging up his legs, and throughout his bod. His ivorns bared at her, and he could not understand why he was reacting so wildly against her. It was a rare day Atreyu was phased, and he had dealt with much more nuisances that her. Stepping again, even closer so their heads were almost touching, he continued, his tones a little more calm, his temper back in check. "If you hadn't went storming off, I was going to ask you to stay here. If you feel you can find another stallion to put up with your airs, feel free to leave." Atreyu paused, thinking he'd rather choke than offer the words he spoke next- "I'd prefer if you did stay, however."

Moonlight Minuet If only you knew... She heard him sigh, she felt him follow her for a brief moment and then he was there, eye to eye with her. He spoke but she couldn't listen, as she felt her insides melt away. She wanted to cry at how rude she had been. She was not normally that rude, Moon was a kind creature. He just didn't know her past with stallions. As he began shouting she flinched, taking a step away only to have him move closer. Her heart pounded within her chest and she felt her body shake for a moment before she regained control of herself.
He finished, asking her if she would join and she smiled. "I would love to join. I am sorry about my behaviour." She said, looking him in the eyes. Her eyes showed sorrow for her behaviour and she hoped he would accept her apology as an apology. She wanted to tell him about her past, spill it all out so he would understand, but she couldn't. "What if he rejects me after that?" She gulped quietly and lowered her head slightly to apologize.

The way she fell into herself soothed him, and he felt ashamed. He shouldn't have lost patience with her. Wasn't he anyone to know that sometimes your exterior was hiding and exterior? Snorting mildly, it was with cautious steps he took towards her. Still, even with her advance, her cranium raised, and she looked at him apologetically. He nodded his mug, accepting the words she offered, understanding how you felt, after you had let yourself out of your own handle. A trickle of snorts Atreyu again emmissed, letting himself lean away from her. She needed her space, he afterall decided, with a little bit of notice to keep her interested. He felt having her around would definitely keep him on the tip of his hooves.
"It is forgiven."
He remarked, blandly and shrewd. Elaborating would mean more painful circles, when he was much curious on Moon, in general. Sighing, he stepped towards her.
"So. What is it you really want? Because I doubt it's someone to constantly be at odds with, and, why are you so hostile anyway, when you could be so lovely...You came here without a ruckus, and then you just cause one with no provoke. Certainly, you didn't think I had come upon you with bad intentions, or animosity...." Curiously, he shook, tossing the mixation-ish hued strands of forelock from his gaze.
He wasn't sure why he was so blunt, but her menacing demeanor had left him attempting to understanding this interesting, ghostly vixen. Then again, he wasn'y trying to intrude... His dish pushed forward, towards her skin, feeling like she needed a comfort of some sort.
As his sentence trailed off, blue depths followed up from her withers, to her eyes, challenging her. She was so dominant, he wondered what she felt when he invaded her space, became intangible in return.

Moonlight Minuet I can't explain the overwhelming pain. Atreyu seemed to understand and accept her apology, leaving Moon feeling a little better about herself. She heard him speak the words she wanted to hear and she sighed softly, glad he was no longer angered with her. How could she have been so stupid as to let herself do that? As to let herself fly off like a maniac! She nodded slightly and smiled. Then, he spoke what she didn't want to hear. "He wants to know your past." She felt fear fill her blood but she wouldn't let it show, Moon was prouder than that. She lifted her head, feeling his eyes challenging her own eyes. She looked for a moment, no emotion even visible in her eyes before she opened her maw and let her story spill.
"My mother had me at a young age, she was only 2. She named me, a name which I forget and then rogues showed up. They killed the rest of the herd, leaving my mother and I alone until they were done. We were brought back to their herd. Things happened, blood was spilled, and I escaped. By then I had forgotten my name and I have wandered alone for so long that I was even unsure of who I am. Yet, one night, I saw two horses kind of dancing, as you may put it, in a field. I remember my mother always told me of a special dance, a minuet. That night, while trying to sleep, the moonlight was keeping me awake. It was then that I named myself Moonlight Minuet. I have wandered for a few years but not much has happened. " She looked to him, noticing how visible her scars on her back and sides were in the light that was now shining upon them. Moon looked right into his eyes, no emotion showing in hers. "I won't speak of what happened until I am ready. And even then the words will not escape me easily." She spoke her words softly, but with a tone that still had strength within. She was bold, he had to give her that at least.

What irritated his mood most with this whole story, was the nonchalant, emotionless way and which Moon relayed her past. It was something constantly ticking him off, the sheer number of mares who were brutally abused at the hands of some other sadistic equine. Granted, he had also met mares that went searching for the pain, though he pitied them in their own way. But most, most didn't ask for it, and most didn't come out without lifetime emotional trauma. Something about Moon though, he sensed pity might just inuriate her. Under other circumstances like this, he would have made it expressly clear how bad he felt for her, and would help, for he truly did feel bad. but he also felt that even though she underwent a lot, she had come off the best she could, and would probably reject any serious sympathy. Not knowing what to say, he backed off a bit, giving her a little room but still standing close. He avoided focusing on her scars, for he still did find her quite attractive. It was just her initial negativity that threw him off before.
Atreyu let his tongue roll around in his mouth, pinching it with the back of his teeth. Finally choosing careful words, he shook his cranium slowly. She reminded him of a friend he had, a vix named Artexa, in the forgetting part. He met her travelling, and all she knew of herself was her name, and, he noted, a serious impatience for others. Something these two had in common. "A lot has happened to you, but I truly do mean the invitation, you ARE strong, and I would very much want that in my herd. Also, I have peculiar tastes." his withers pulled up in a shrug, weight shifting precariously. "I apologize, for hollering in your face. I don't typically yell, or get in anyones face so-to-say, and even though you were...." He paused, now chortling inside good natured thinking on her impossible attitude, "a little more difficult than most horses I typically deal with, I should have kept myself a little better." The last statement was offered in a light manner, a little, hesitant laugh after. He did find it amusing, at this point in time, anyway.

Moonlight Minuet You did nothing wrong. Her worries, her fear, all vanished as she looked at him. He seemed to understand and accept it as such. What had happened could not be undone but her future could be brilliant and amazing. A soft smile spread on her grey maw, allowing emotions to show in her eyes once again. Moon nodded slightly, her forelock falling on her head correctly, before she continued. She went to speak, to thank him, but he began speaking. At first she feared he would banish her and it made her insides turn to ice. Yet, his words were soft spoken as he talked to her.
After he was done speaking he let out a slight laugh and she couldn't help but feel as if she needed to laugh as well. "Thank you for calling me strong. I would love to be a member of your herd. A am a little more difficult than most horses you typically deal with because I am not typical. I am unique." She let a slight laugh out and moved closer to Atreyu. "What do you do for fun with all this snow on the ground year round?" She looked at him, her eyes questioning him.
