MISERY BUSINESSMisery trotted through the forest. She didn't really have anywhere to go, so she was just doing nothing. Maybe she'd meet another horse, hopefully one that would be useful to her.
She hadn't met a horse that had actually been useful to her in ages. Remembering that fact didn't help her mood at all. It just made her grumpy. In her five years of living, all the horses she had met had been complete idiots. Of course, none of them were much use to her, other than a travel companion, a few had been stupid enough to do her dirty work for her. Other than that, nothing.
Stopping under a large Maple Tree, Misery snorted, and kicked at some leaves on the ground. How much more useless could this day get? She thought miserably.

It was with a sense of annoyance that Rowland walked through the tall trees. He could hear the animals creeping through the foliage around him, but they kept out of his sight, a fact he was rather grateful for. Admittedly, he wasn't in the best mood today. To make matters worse, he wasn't even sure why he was sulking he just... well, he just was, and he didn't see the point in explaining himself to anyone. Even... himself.
Huffing at the ridiculous turn of his own thoughts, he pulled himself back to reality. Careful to pick his hooves up above the crunching leaves, he pushed himself into a crisp trot, his head placed high into the air. His movements were smooth, the easy gait one of his preferred and one that took little effort on his part. It also showed off his strong barreled build and sturdy neck quick well, if he were being honest. He kept his tail high, flying like a banner behind him, as if he were showing off to a crowd. Some may call it arrogant and ridiculous to keep up airs like this while completely alone... But it was something he enjoyed too much to let go off. A quick salute to his stable bound days, if you will.
With light steps, he turned sharply, darting out from behind a closely bound grove of trees. The site that greeted him made him pull to an abrupt stop, his head tilting lightly to the side. With a deep sigh, his ears went back as he stepped closer. Standing beneath a large, lonely maple in the middle of the small clearing was a lone mare. This was most definitely not what he wanted to do with his day. But he had manners, even if he barely made use of them, and he was admittedly curious of this new femme roaming the terra. So, with a big breath and a bit of irritation, he stepped toward he again, forcing his face to one of neutral politness.
[orange]”Hello there... What brings you to this part of the forest?”[/orange] although he was friendly enough, he knew his voice was chilly, and not all that welcoming. Unsurprisingly, he couldn't really bring himself to care.

MISERY BUSINESSWhile she was still grumbling to herself about how boring things had gotten for her, Misery heard a stallion's voice behind her. Turning she saw, as she had thought, a stallion standing in front of her. Time to turn on the charm. She thought to herself.
"Hi! I'm Missy!" She said smiling sweetly. It wasn't exactly a lie, Missy sounded and awful lot like Misery, but equines tended to be scared away by her real name. So, she had taken to telling them her name was Missy. If she ended up with that horse for a long time she might tell them the truth, but that had never happened before.
"Oh, I was just going for a little walk, what about you?" Her smile was still sickeningly sweet, and her voice was like honey. She hated honey. She was even grumpier than before, but this stallion could prove useful.

"Hi! I'm Missy!
Oh goodness. Rowland stifled a pained groan as the mare... Missy... answered him. He almost wished she hadn't, however frustrating that would have been. Personally, he'd take frustration over the creative torture that was a sugary sweet mare any day. Unfortunately for him, he believed that at least the barest forms of courtesy should be given... At least until he found a good reason to dash, that is.
He took a deep breath, stealing him for the ordeal to come. With easy grace, he tipped his head to the mare, forcing the barest traces of a smile onto his face, although he was rather sure it looked more like a grimace. [orange]"It's a... pleasure to meet you... Missy,"[/orange] ok, well, he was trying... But the word Missy seemed to stick in his throat, completely out of place in his normal vocabulary. With a hint of spited, he figured he'd chalk that up to being just another reason to dislike this obnoxious mare. [orange]"I am Rowland,"[/orange] he added his name to the mix belatedly, forcing himself to continue on the same frostily polite path.
"Oh, I was just going for a little walk, what about you?"
[orange]"I travel most of the time, but I tend to find my time is taken mostly by walking these forests,"[/orange] as was before, his voice was clipped, his eyes narrowing at her sugary tone. Oh... my. Well, he sighed to himself, it's not like you could expect much more from a mare after all... Silly little disgusting creatures.
