A tall and slender mare picked her way precariously through the tombstones, muscles pulled taut with anxiety. The white spots across her flanks would twitch with every step, and her brown optics darted across the land. The haunting and foreboding feeling wasn't cause for her stress; In fact, the somber mood appealed to her natural personality. It was the fact she felt out of place, new to a land, with no acquintances.
Snorting, Artexa picked her dial up even higher, while he frame lurched to a stop. The meandering was old; Swiveling left, then right, her torso lifted up from the ground. Powerful scythes kicked up at the sky, the shadowy figure illuminated in the lazy golden rays of weak sunshine. Her banners whipped, a blue of white and black around her face, before she crashed back to the ground. Ivorns baring, she rumbled a series of nickers, calling to the other roaming equines. Impatiently, she waited.

Apocalypse
Pitch harks flicked at every sound the wind carried near to her. A slight treacle of blood ran from her nose, eyes, and ears. She had had this defect since the fall she had taken a few years before, at first she thought she was dying but no, she was forever banished here and heaven nor hell wanted her around. With her crown held at a tight arch from her past grazing position she glanced around her surrounding challenging something to come out and even speak. Quickly becoming bored with her surroundings her crown loosened and she started to walk with an emotionless face. Dinner plate sized hooves pounded the short stalks of grass that sprouted boldly out of the earth. Black banner flowed like a water fall behind her muscular frame. Hips swaying from side to side would put any stud in a trance.
A small bird fluttered by her heard screaming it's sweet tunes and it was just down right annoying. Death paused for a moment and when the bird flew in front of her face she charged with teeth bared. In the next second a small body was in her teeth but no blood was tasted on her tongue. The bird was alive heart racing a mile a minute with a sorry and pitiful look in his eye. Lucky for him Death was lazy today and she released her jaws from the birds chest and it flew away without hesitation and with out a sound in to the forest. A short time later Death found herself walking through tomb stones and a smirk came to her face. Looking up she found another mare whinnying and prancing around for some one to come. Death (her nickname) looked away, her forelock covering her eyes. "You really shant behave like such a needy little yearling."

Her black harks twitched, head turning to face the slinking femme, bodice moving to follow. Her crown tossed up as she surveyed the hellish creature in her scrutinizing glare. Afflictions of blood traced her facade, and laced in her ivorns. Disgusted, Artexa stepped back, a dark plated hoof pawing at the forest floor. Snorting, her streaked banner lashed at her flanks, annoyed by Death's advance. Did horses have any manners? Surely one could uphold ones 'evilness' with some dignity. Mocking, Artexa bowed her head, long neck stretching out, maw kissing the air. "My apologies, some of still have reason to prance with a young heart." Still she stamped, energy coursing in her. Needy? She scoffed at this foxlike femme, who appeared to surround herself with a suffocating darkness. She had taken care of herself as far back as she could remember, without friend, family, or mate. Yearling? Maybe so, for she often felt high spirited and without a heavy heart; Excusing of course her distate for other horses. Laughing, her head snapped up, pinnacles slicking back.
"I shall do what I wish, whether I shan't or should. I see no reason why this is any concern of yours unless to join me." Her tones were taunting. But really, Artexa couldn't help but poke fun at such obvious seriousness. Hostility was never her exact fore front, but her biting tongue was easily provoked. Death unsettled her, but no so much as pass up the oppurtunity for entertainment, though their ideas of such probably differed. Artexa gathered her height up, knees locking, knowing herself to be not the most frightening sight, but certainly formidable. She found she had little patience with the dramatics, and if this mare wanted to waste time, she would play along the best she could, to a certain point. This is exactly why she forever avoided others, they were forever stamping out her fun.

He had finally done it he had stalked a claim to some land and created himself a home. Yet his home was lacking in family and friends. He needed mares, he needed lovers, he needed stallions, he needed brothers to join him in his new home. The Rain Forest was far to quiet of equine hooves and calls. It wasn't a home that was silent that was for sure. It had birds that chipped and called to one another, as well as rain that pattered the land for what seemed to be a daily thing. It was a warm place he wondered if it even gathered snow in the winter. Shaking his head he pushed his wondering thoughts from his brain as he crossed into holy and haunted grounds. He wasn't here for a reason he just found himself coming here. His hooves took him forward and it would seem his path would lead him to a mare. Two mares at that. At least he thinks there is two mares he thought he heard two voices after all.
Coming into view he spotted the black beauty and stood still. Shaking out his mane he flickered his tail as he arched his neck handsomely. Trotting towards the mares he stopped a few feet away. He didn't want to get into their space. Their faces where their personal space. Looking at the black lady with his blue eyes, the scared blood bay tossed his head slightly as he spoke. "Hello. Living life?" He asked in a calm voice as he poured sweet charming tones into each word he spoke. "I am Fate." He then added as he looked at Artexa. The other mare didn't much interest him so he really didn't pay her now mine.

His words puzzled her at first, and she shook her head, immediately backing a pace up from him. His tones were laced with a soothing, yet she held a little more faith in his self respect than that of the antagonizing other mare. Speaking of... Artexa's tail twitched, flicking at her marred pelt, only her rump with a spattering of white freckles on an otherwise dark body. "You bore me. And you, you confuse me." Sharply tossing her head towards Fate. She had a quick glance of his stately frame and prescence, and it unnerved her, making her feel malformed with her generic mold (excluding the Appaloos trace in her coloration.) She also stood an inch, at least, above him, though she was new to her height and rarely took note of such things. Snorting she turned, stopping to give him a curious look, her back on the annoying banshee, yet at a pace he could follow if he wished. She mused for a second he would, then irrately tossed head. She was feeling cankerous today, that was no lie, and apparent in the way she reacted to the two equines. Still, in his approach she couldn't help admire the way moved, the way his neck gracefully arched. But his words angered her, they were too smooth, too calculated. It flagged, in her mind, a horse that had a reason to come off in such a way. ooc: I wanted to move it away from Apocolypse, because I don't want the thread held up waiting for her turn when she hasn't been on in a few weeks, or said she wouldnt be on. Hey though, if you read this, your welcome to join back in

Was his words really that confusing? All he asked was, was she living her life. Clearly she was living, but if she was really living it and having fun with it he didn't know. "Forgive me I do not seek to confuse." He said his voice still full of the same tones as before. The mares might find it annoying, but if they do or not he doesn't really care. He will keep on using it. Why not? He isn't a bad guy, just a lonely guy who is hoping to sweet talk someone into joining him in his lonely herd in the land of rain and trees. Watching the black mare walk off he followed after her as she seemed like she wanted him to follow her. What with her looking back and such.
Moving forward he trotted in an elegance and grace that came naturally with his breed. His eyes looked around the land for a moment, taking in just where he was. He didn't know the name of the area, but it felt depressing here. It seemed to have a dead or dying feeling to it, but he pushed that out of his mine as he looked back at the mare he had been speaking with before. She was taller then him, but he knows that there are other equines taller then him. Stallion, Mares and even some foal that are made up of larger breeds stand higher then himself. "Do you know what this land is called?" He questioned in a curious voice that sill had some charm in it's tone, but it was more curious then anything. He would had laid on the charm and called her all the beautiful and pretty meaning words under the sun, but that would be weird as he doesn't even know her name yet.

The lines above her optics furled, and she snorted, glancing at him from the corner of her eye as she tread. He didn't mean to confuse her, well, wasn't that nice. Catching his question, her ears twitched, and she slowed her pace, looking about her. What was this place called... It had a haunted look to it, and oh yeah, now she remembered what that terrified filly had said to her a moon ago. "It's... The Haunted. I believe so, anyway." Her dark withers pulled up in a shrug. What did it really matter anyway. If anything, the damp and stuffy, and eery enviroment suited her mood. Her teeth gnashed together, impatiently, and her hind legs swiveled, bringing her to face him. "Why Fate? Thats a name to live up to." Her irateness was growing, and her hind legs kicked up behind her, before she pranced slightly away from him. She wanted to play, she guessed, whether enertaining herself, or by Fate.
ooc; crappy reply but in a rush!!

His question to her might have sounded odd, but he honestly had no clue what this place was called. He had never seen an equine graveyard before. The stones that stuck up from the ground where interesting and if he was some type of canine he would be digging to see what is at their bases or how big the stones really was. Thank goodness he wasn't some canine creature. "The Haunted interesting name. Have you ever seen a haunting. Wait this is a graveyard?" He know the answer in the back of his mind, but was just creep-ed out a bit by it. Clearly this place didn't match his own mood for his mood was a pleasant one. Even with being around a grumpy mares. Hearing her question he stopped in his tracks. "Why not?" He asked her and waited for few moments before going on to add. "Devil's Fate is my full name, but living in a cult type herd I dropped the Devil's part when I left." He nodded his head slightly as he spoke about leaving the cult. "It might seem like a name to have to live up to, but really it is just a name. Speaking of names do you have one?" He know she did, she just hadn't told it to him.

Her excitement peaked a bit. Had she ever seen a haunting? Artexa laughed a little under her breath. Visage shifting on him, if she had brows, they would have been raised; Even so, her deep-set, brown optics focused on him. "Have you ever seen a haunting?" She countered back, then trotted a few from him, though her frame still leaned towards him, at an almost unnoticable angle. She was haunted by a lot of things, but it was more of a belief thing. Ebon crania tilting, she nickered, bemused. "I dropped my name down too. From Artexan Moon, to Artexa. Though those I've known from... then... still use it." Eyes rolled. It just didn't make sense to her. Her muscles quivered, tightening. Come to think it, maybe she even came from a cult, though she figured she might never know. She was so bored, and this stallion displayed such mild interest in her. Not betraying an inner smile, she stepped tentatively to him, nickering, coaxing him to continue his pace with her. "Where are you from, I'm assuming not here." This place, though creepy, lured her in a vague way. It matched her somber, shrewd outlook on life.

This mare was interesting he had to be honestly and say that at least in her own mind. At her question about if he had ever seen a haunting he shook his head. "No. Unfortunately no." He said simply and clearly as he followed her. He might have been a stallion here and she should have been following him or that was what his father would have said, but instead he was following her around. His eyes where on her when she spoke again about how her name had been shortened as well. Artexa, what an interesting name to shorten it to. He thought to himself. If he had been her he would have shortened it to Moon, but to each their own. As she nickered at him he picked up his pace to trot a long side her. "You are correct about not being from here. My home is new and fresh to me. It is a warm forest that gets rain just about every day not that far from here. In fact the reason I left it for the day was to search for mares and stallions alike that would be interested in joining my herd there, which currently is just myself." He told her. Being straight with her as he spoke. "Would such a beautiful mare such as yourself Artexa be interested perhaps." He finally asked her, but he hadn't wished to jump the gun and shoot himself right off with her. So he could only hope he waited long enough to ask.

Artexa let her hooves adjust to match his, and she noted the paces they took were side-by-side. She assumed at one point she had had a herd... Her head shook, tossing black and white threads upwards. It pained her to be at loss of a memory, and was a home even what she wanted. Sighing, she watched him out of the corner of her eye before offering tentative words. "I will join you there..." The warm enviroment appealed to her, she admitted, and a forest offered a sort of recluse. Which she didn't deny she seeked. And the top-side this laid back stallion didn't unnerve or annoy her like most others. Nodding her crania, she re-affrimed her decisions, "I would definitely like to join your herd, Fate."
